Attaching your Banner to your Chosen Surface

Vinyl banners are incredibly durable and can be a great use to those needing to advertise an event, function or business; especially if they are to be located outside. This type of banner is hard wearing and waterproof and the inks used tend to be UV resistant meaning you can reuse them time and time again. It is important to consider where you wish to locate your banners to get the most attention and this will influence the type of banner fixings that you use. The majority of signs will have holes in them which are then reinforced with metal rings at the corners, these are known as grommets, D or O rings. This provides a simple way to attach your banner to your chosen surface; however there are several other banner fixing methods that you could use.

Hooks

These come in the form of plastic hooks and have a strong suction cup on the back or metal hooks that have screws on the end. If you are hanging the banner onto a hard surface then you may find that plastic hooks work the best but metal hooks work well if you wish to screw the banner into a wall or tree. Of course before you do either make sure that the owner of the property has given you permission to use your banner fixing.

Rope

It is also possible to use rope as a banner fixing to attach your sign to a building or tree. Simply loop your rope through the holes in the corner of your banner and tie a secure knot. You can then tie each end of the rope to a pole, hook or branch and securely knot into place.

Screws

If you would rather use screws and washers as a banner fixing for your sign then this is also possible. You will need to ensure that the banner has a specific size of grommets that will fit standard screws. In order to then attach the sign you simply need to place a washer over the screw and insert into each grommet. This particular method works well if your sign will be attached to the surface for a long period of time as it is not the quickest banner fixing method.
